The trench for the foundation's edge has been completed. A leak in the sprinkler system kept feeding water into the ditch, so I had to cap it several feet back from the trench.
Nothing bothers Dancer so much as the chiseling away of the subterrean corners of the current foundation: she barks, whimpers, and scratches at the baseboard as the house vibrates.

Right side yard and foundational trench, back to the chiseled house footing.
Back trench, complete with water.  As the boys watched the laborer dig this trench, Keith took it as an opportune time to expouse the virtues of a white color job over, say, ditch digging.
Left trench, with the house footing this is supposed to show obscured by Dancer shadow.
